the temptation of saint anthony is a common theme in christian art. this image is based off of an early renaissance painting that is supposedly the first painting we have from michelangelo. he copied it from an earlier etching. here, i've taken the demons and this theme and put them in my own style, in fact i used this image as kind of a visual contemplation of lots of demons that i and perhaps you as well wrestle with every day. there's alcohol, primitive animal energy, drugs, violence, depression, lust, gluttony, sloth, and the temptation of the dark arts and forbidden faux spiritual knowledge, all set in full color at a foot by a foot and a half. honestly, this is probably my favorite image out of all the things i've ever done. i put a lot of myself into it and i'm very happy with how it turned out.
