Brief description so I can drop this today:
I was asked to make this image showing the lineage of two prominent figures in American Orthodoxy - also showing the two "streams" of Greek and Russian influence.
On one side, there's Saint Herman of Alaska (link btw), over St. John Of Shanghai and San Francisco, over Seraphim Rose. On the other side, we have Mt. Athos, St. John the Hesychast, then Elder Ephraim of Arizona.
I really enjoyed doing this one. As you can see, making this entailed going over their life stories and taking out details, then a lot of visual research. To be honest, the drawing style for it kind of "just happened" - I think the beards turned out especially epic. Overall this unexpectedly became one of my favorite things that I've done so far.
